This is alist of presidents of the Republic of Somaliland, ade factosovereign state in theHorn of Africa, considered internationally to be part ofSomalia. TheRepublic of Somaliland regards itself as thesuccessor state toBritish Somaliland, which was independent for a few days in 1960 as theState of Somaliland.[1][2] ThePresident of Somaliland is thehead of state andhead of government ofSomaliland. The president leads theexecutive branch of theGovernment of Somaliland and is thecommander-in-chief of theSomaliland Armed Forces. The official residence of the president is the Presidential Palace inHargeisa.
