This includes only land on theJutland peninsula – land that is part of mainland Europe:
Following a flood in 1825, the northernmost part ofJutland is actually an island.[2]
This includes only land in theEuropean Union, also called Denmark proper, excludingGreenland and theFaroe Islands which are considered separate countries:
Danish territory includes the island of Kaffeklubben, the northernmost permanent piece of land on earth.[3] There are several temporary gravel banks marginally further north, such asOodaaq, but these are not included here.
Gedser is also the southernmost point ofScandinavia and theNordic countries.[1]
