This is a list ofUnited States ambassadorsappointed by the44thpresident of the United States,Barack Obama.

The list includes ambassadors appointed during both his first and second terms.

At the start of his presidency, Obama's team stated that they were aware of the historical target of 70% of ambassador appointments being career diplomats and committed to meeting the target.[1] He met this level during his first.[2]

During his presidency, Obama appointed a total of 416 ambassadors. 291 were career diplomats and 125 were political appointees, for a total of 69.95% being career diplomats.[3]
