


Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a union territory of India, has an international-designated airport and a few airstrips for military and emergency purposes. TheVeer Savarkar International Airport inPort Blair is jointly operated by theAirports Authority of India andIndian Navy while the aerodromes atCar Nicobar by Indian Air Force,Campbell Bay andDiglipur are operated by theIndian Navy only.
The new terminal atVeer Savarkar International Airport inPort Blair was inaugurated on 18 July 2023 to enhance the capacity of the airport amid increased tourism.[1] Under theGovernment of India'sUDAN scheme, 3 airstrips and 4 water aerodromes are proposed to be developed to improve inter-connectivity among the islands and increase tourism.[2]
