List of Toronto subway stations

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Toronto subway map

TheToronto subway is a system of three underground, surface, and elevated rapid transit lines inToronto andVaughan, Ontario, Canada, operated by theToronto Transit Commission (TTC). It was the country's firstrapid transit system: the first line was built underYonge Street with a short stretch alongFront Street and opened in 1954 with 12 stations. Since then, the system has expanded to become Canada's largest in terms of number of stations and itsbusiest, with an average of about 1.1 million passenger trips each weekday recorded during the first quarter of 2025.[1] There are a total of 70 operating stations with an additional 60 under construction – 28 of which will be street-runninglight rail transit (LRT) stops – and 5 former stations.

Description

[edit]

The subway system encompasses three lines and 70 stations on 70.1 kilometres (43.6 mi) of route.[2] As of 2025[update], 58 of the 70 stations are fully accessible, with plans originally set to ensureall stations were accessible for disabled people by 2025;[3] however, in September 2024, it was reported this goal would not be met until 2026.[4] As of 2025,[update] only Christie, College, Greenwood, Islington, King, Lawrence, Museum, Old Mill, Rosedale, Spadina, Summerhill and Warden stations are not fully accessible.Line 3 Scarborough, a light metro line with six stations, was permanently closed in July 2023.

As of September 2024,[update] three new lines are under construction, twolight rail lines and one subway line:
