List of Sam Houston State Bearkats football seasons

This is a list of seasons completed by theSam Houston Bearkats football team. The Bearkats compete in theNCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) as a member ofConference USA. Sam Houston's first football team was fielded in 1912. The team plays its home games at the 12,593-seatBowers Stadium inHuntsville, Texas.

Sam Houston has two national championships in their history, the first coming in1964 as a member of theNAIA. The most recent title was in the2021 spring season when Sam Houston defeatedSouth Dakota State 23–21 in theNCAA Division I FCS national championship game.

The head coach of the Bearkats isK. C. Keeler, who has led the team since 2014. Keeler guided the Bearkats to six postseason appearances and is the all-time winningest head coach in FCS playoff history. The Bearkats were members of FCS (formerly I-AA) from 1984 to 2022, before moving up to join the FBS in2023.
