There areUrdu radio stations in areas with high Pakistani populations. Several cable and satellite providers offer Pakistani channels, includingGEO TV,[49]ARY Digital,[50] andPTV.[51] Others have offeredPakistani content for subscription, such as whenPakistan played Australia for theCricket World Cup in 1999. In July 2005, Viacom's music video network MTV launched a digital, spin-off network calledMTV Desi which targetsSouth Asian Americans in the US, including Pakistanis.[52] MTV Desi closed operations as part of the shutdown of MTV World in April 2007.[53]
