TheLos Angeles Dodgers are a Major League Baseball franchise that competes in theNational League. The Dodgers have won nineWorld Series, 27pennants (including one from their days in theAmerican Association), and 23National League West titles.[1] Their worst season was the1992 season, when their record was 63 wins and 99 losses. The most wins the Dodgers ever had in a season was 111, which occurred in2022.

The Dodgers have had multiple periods of sustained excellence. The franchise’s first successful period, between 1947 (Jackie Robinson’s first season) through 1966 (Sandy Koufax's final season), featured four championships (1955,1959,1963,1965), ten World Series appearances (1947,1949,1952,1953, 1955, 1959, 1963, 1965,1966), and only two seasons with 71 or more losses.[2] Their next period of sustained success was from 1973-1988, which was overseen by the end ofWalter Alston’s managerial career (manager from 1954-1976) and of most ofTommy Lasorda’s (1976–1996). During this fifteen-year period, the team won two championships (1981,1988), five pennants (1974,1977,1978,1981,1988), and sevenNational League West division titles. The team's two consecutive 89-loss seasons in1986 and1987 were followed by animprobable World Championship in 1988; the 1988 championship was highlighted byKirk Gibson's walk-off home run in Game 1 of the World Series, which was named the greatest moment in team history by theLos Angeles Times.[3][4] Currently, the Dodgers have won three World Series titles since2020, which includes the franchise's first back-to-back championships in2024 and2025, and have made the playoffs every season since2013.
