The name "Labour Party" (or "Labor Party") is used bypolitical parties around the world, particularly inCommonwealth nations. Historically, these parties are associated withdemocratic socialism, although not exclusively. Over time, most have evolved intosocial democratic parties. They are traditionally allied withtrade unions and the broaderlabour movement. Many Labour parties are also members of theSocialist International or participants in theProgressive Alliance.
