Bath City Football Club is a semi-professionalfootball club based inBath, Somerset, England. The club is affiliated to theSomerset FA and currently competes in theNational League South, thesixth tier ofEnglish football. Nicknamed the "Romans", the club was founded in 1889 as Bath AFC, and changed its name to Bath City in 1905. Bath City came runners up in theSouthern Leaguein 1930, and againin 1933. The club was discussed as a potential entrant to theFootball League Third Division South during the 1930s,[1][2] but missed out on election to theFootball League on multiple occasions, including 1935, 1978 and 1985.[3] During theSecond World War, the club won theFootball League North - competing against the likes ofAston Villa andBristol City, though wartime trophies were deemed unofficial.[4]

Bath reached the third round of theFA Cup six times, beating league sides such asCrystal Palace (in 1931),Millwall (in 1959), andCardiff City (in 1992).[5] The club were crowned Southern League championsin 1960 and1978, one of the highest levels of non-League football at the time. After a period of relative decline in the 1990s while in theConference, Bath were demoted to the seventh tier in2004. They were promotedin 2007,[6] and then againin 2010,[7] and played in the Conference for the first time since 1997, though the club were relegated in 2012 and have played in theNational League South since.[5] The list details the team's achievements, top goal scorer and attendances in senior first-team competitions from their first in theWiltshire League during the1901–02 season to the end of the most recently completed season. Details of the abandoned1939–40 season and unofficialSecond World War leagues are not included.
