Below is alist of countries inAfrica by area.[1]Algeria has been the largest country in Africa and theArab world since the division ofSudan in 2011. The largest African country not located in theArab world is theDemocratic Republic of the Congo located inCentral Africa, which is also the second largest in the continent. Africa is the second largest continent in the world by area.Seychelles is the smallest country in Africa overall, withThe Gambia being the smallest country on continental Africa.[2]
