Lise Zarac (French pronunciation:[lizzaʁak]; born August 22, 1950) is a Canadian politician who representedLaSalle—Émard in theHouse of Commons from 2008 to 2011. A member of theLiberal Party, she also sat in theMontreal City Council from 2017 to 2021.
Zarac represented the federalelectoral district ofLaSalle—Émard in Montreal for one term from2008 to2011 as a member of theLiberal Party, succeeding former Prime MinisterPaul Martin.[1] She was defeated in her re-election bid byHélène LeBlanc of theNew Democratic Party (NDP).
In2017 she turned to municipal politics, and was elected to represent the Cecil-P.-Newman district inLaSalle in theMontreal City Council as part of the local LaSalle party Équipe Barbe Team. Ahead of the2021 municipal election she announced her retirement from politics.
