Liné Malan (born 20 June 1992)[1] is afield hockey player fromSouth Africa, who plays as a midfielder.[2][3]
Liné Malan was born in theUnited Kingdom. At the age of three, her family moved toPaarl, South Africa.[4][3]
Her brother,Dawid, is an international cricketer forEngland.[5]
Malan has played domestically inSouth Africa,England andAustralia.[4]
In 2017, she played for the Wineland Wings in theseason two of the South AfricanPremier Hockey League.[6]
Following her move to Australia in 2018, Malan has played regularly in the national league for Western Australian teams, theWA Diamonds in theAHL,[7] and thePerth Thundersticks in theHockey One.[8]
Liné Malan made her debut for theSouth Africa U–21 in 2013 at theFIH Junior World Cup inMönchengladbach.[9]
Malan made her debut for thenational team in 2015 during a test event inCape Town againstChile andBelgium.[9][2] She subsequently appeared at the2014–15 FIH World League Semi-finals inValencia.[4]
She last represented the national team in 2016 during theCape Town Summer Series.[9]
