Lily Peacock (born 10 July 2005) is an Australian professionalrugby league footballer who currently plays for theNorth Queensland Cowboys in theNRL Women's Premiership.

Background

Peacock was born on theGold Coast, Queensland and raised inMackay, Queensland, where she played her junior rugby league for the Proserpine Brahmans.[2]

Playing career

Early years

In 2022, Peacock played for theMackay Cutters under-19s and represented the Queensland Country under-17 side.[3][4]

2023

In 2023, Peacock began the season playing for the Cutters under-19s side before moving up to theirQRL Women's Premiership team, playing three games.[5]

On 23 May, she signed a development contract with theNorth Queensland Cowboys.[6] On 13 July, she came off the bench for Queensland under-19 in their 20–14 win over New South Wales, running for 107 metres.[7]

In Round 7 of the2023 NRL Women's season, she made her NRLW debut for the Cowboys in a 48–16 loss to theSt George Illawarra Dragons.[8]

2024

In May, Peacock started atprop in the Cutters' Grand Final win over theNorths Devils and was named Player of the Match.[9]

On 20 June, Peacock represented Queensland under-19, starting atprop in their loss to New South Wales.[10] On 21 June, she was called into the senior Queensland women's squad as an injury replacement.[11]

In Round 1 of the2024 NRL Women's season, she came off the bench in the Cowboys' 14–0 loss to theCronulla Sharks.[12] In Round 2, she scored her first NRLW try in a 38–34 win over theSt George Illawarra Dragons.[13]

On 13 October, Peacock represented the AustralianPrime Minister's XIII in their win over Papua New Guinea.[14]
