Levroux (French pronunciation:[ləvʁu]ⓘ) is acommune in theIndredepartment in centralFrance, to the north ofChâteauroux. On 1 January 2016, the former commune ofSaint-Martin-de-Lamps was merged into Levroux.[3] On 1 January 2019, the former communeSaint-Pierre-de-Lamps was merged into Levroux.[4] Its Porte de Champagne fortified gateway is the only survivor of its seven gates. Levroux is famous for its local delicacy of goats' cheese.
