InGreek mythology, the nameLeucus or Leukos (Ancient Greek: Λεῦκος "white") may refer to:

  • Leucus, son of the bronze giantTalos ofCrete and foster son of KingIdomeneus. Following the advice ofNauplius, he seducedMeda, wife of Idomeneus, who had been convinced by Nauplius not to stay faithful to her husband, when Idomeneus himself had gone toTrojan War. Leucus eventually killed Meda and took possession of the kingdom; he also killed her daughterCleisithyra, despite the fact that she was betrothed to him by Idomeneus, and two sons of Meda,Iphiclus andLycus (or Leucus). Idomeneus was driven out of Crete by Leucus upon return from Troy.[1]
  • Leucus, a companion ofOdysseus, killed byAntiphus.[2]
  • Leucus, a singer fromLesbos in the army ofDionysus.[3]
  • Leucus, an epithet ofHermes inBoeotia.[4]
