Leonid Sigal is a Russianviolinist andconductor.[1][2]

A graduate from theMoscow Conservatory, Sigal is active in theUnited States, where he settled as he joined in 1995 theNew World Symphony Orchestra. He was appointed the orchestra'sConcertmaster, and was trained as a conductor byMichael Tilson Thomas. He subsequently served as an Associate Concertmaster at theFlorida Philharmonic Orchestra, and theMiami Chamber Symphony's Artistic Director (2001–04). He has been theHartford Symphony Orchestra's Concertmaster since 2005.

Apart from this chairs, he has performed internationally as a soloist and chamber musician. Sigal teaches atThe Hartt School.[3]
