Leonardo Mancuso (born 26 May 1992) is an Italian professionalfootballer who plays as aforward orwinger forSerie B clubMantova.
Born inMilan,Lombardy, Mancuso was a youth product ofAC Milan. He was in the reserve B, or U-18 "Berretti" team, during the 2009–10 season.[1] Mancuso was then promoted to become a member of the reserve "Primavera" during the 2010–11 season;[2] however, he only made a handful of appearances.[citation needed]
In mid-2011, he was transferred toSerie D (fifth division) teamPizzighettone for the2011–12 season.[citation needed] On 5 July 2012,Lega Pro (third division) clubCarrarese announced that they had signed Mancuso from Pizzighettone in a permanent deal.[3]
In July 2016, Mancuso sign with newly promoted Serie C (third division) clubSambenedettese.[citation needed] After a strong season, scoring 25 goals in 40 matches,[4] he joinedPescara.[citation needed] On 31 January 2018, Mancuso joinedJuventus, withCristian Bunino moving in the opposite direction.[citation needed] Mancuso immediately returned to Pescara on an 18-month loan.[5]
On 13 July 2019, Mancuso signed for Serie B sideEmpoli.[6] On 28 October 2020, Mancuso scored ahat-trick in Empoli's upset ofSerie A sideBenevento in thethird round of theCoppa Italia.[7] Less than two months later on 12 December, Mancuso scored four times in a 5–2 away victory overVirtus Entella inleague action.[8]
On 20 January 2022, Monza signed Mancuso on a two-year loan with obligation for purchase.[9] Following Monza's Serie A promotion on 29 May 2022, Mancuso's obligation for purchase clause was triggered.[10]
Mancuso was loaned out toComo for one year.[11] He was sent on a one-year loan toPalermo on 5 July 2023, with an option and obligation for purchase.[12]
On 12 July 2024, Mancuso joinedMantova on a permanent deal.[13]
Mancuso was selected by theSerie D representative team for theTorneo di Viareggio in January 2012.[14] He was called up toItaly under-20 C team in February 2013, and made his debut on 7 February, as half-time substitute forLeonardo Gatto.[15]
