Lendelede (Dutch pronunciation:[ˈlɛndəˌleːdə];West Flemish:Lendlee) is amunicipality located in theBelgian province ofWest Flanders. The municipality comprises only the town of Lendelede proper. On January 1, 2006, Lendelede had a total population of 5,399. The total area is 13.15 km2 which gives apopulation density of 411 inhabitants per km2.
While the settlement's true founding may date back to theRoman era, the first documentary evidence of Lendelede's existence dates back to 1078.[2]
