Nota bene: Abinomial authority in parentheses indicates that the species was originally described in a genus other thanLeiosaurus.
Thespecific name,bellii, is in honor ofEnglishzoologistThomas Bell, and the specific name,paronae, is in honor ofItalian zoologistCorrado Parona.[3]
