Lefteris Pantazis (Greek:Λευτέρης Πανταζής) who is often called by the nicknameLePa by the media and hisfans, is a Greek singer.[1][2] He was bornEleftherios Pagkozidis (Ελευθέριος Παγκοζίδης) on 27 March 1955 toPontic Greek parents inTashkent,Uzbek SSR, in theUSSR.[3] His parentsrepatriated toGreece as refugees in the 1960s.[4]
He began singing professionally in the mid-1970s and his first record was distributed in 1979.[4] His songs belong to agenre that cannot precisely be described and in Greek it is calledskiladiko (σκυλάδικo) orlaika (λαϊκά). Hismusic combines elements oftraditionalcountryfolk music and modernpop. Some of his best known hits include: 'Εχω τρελάνει το Θεό' (I've driven God insane) and 'Το Ωραιότερο Πλάσμα Του Κόσμου' (The most beautiful creature in the world).[4]
