Leeanna Walsman is an Australian actress. She is best known for her role asZam Wesell inStar Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002), and for her roles in the 2000 filmLooking for Alibrandi and the television seriesWentworth. She was nominated for bothAACTA andLogie awards for her role inEmmy Award-winning seriesSafe Harbour.[1]

Walsman commenced her acting career 1996, when she made a guest appearance in drama seriesPolice Rescue,[3] followed by further guest roles on shows, such as,Big Sky[3] andMurder Call. During which time, Walsman made her feature film debut inSteven Vidler's 1997 dramaBlackrock. She continued to appear in guest spots on several drama series, includingWildside,[3]Home and Away,Heartbreak High,[3] as well as fantasy shows,Farscape[3] andBeastmaster.[3]
Walsman was cast inStar Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002), asZam Wesell. In the 2000s, her television roles consisted of appearances inYoung Lions,White Collar Blue, andAll Saints, and the miniseriesJessica,[3] which is based on the novel byBryce Courtenay,Hercules,The Starter Wife and the war dramaThe Pacific.[3]
In 2012, Walsman was cast in theFoxtel prison drama seriesWentworth, as governor Erica Davidson. The series, which first went to air in 2013,[3] is a reimagining of theNetwork Ten soap opera/dramaPrisoner, in which the character of Erica was portrayed byPatsy King in the original series. Walsman only appeared in the show's first season.[4]
In 2015, she had a supporting role inHome and Away: An Eye for an Eye, a special episode of the soap opera which streamed on the now-defunct servicePresto, and subsequently appearances in drama series,Janet King,[3]Cleverman,[3]Seven Types of Ambiguity[3] and miniseriesSafe Harbour.[5][3]
In 2023 it was announced that channel 9 dramaHuman Error would go into production with Walsman in the lead role.[6] In 2024, it was announced that drama seriesHuman Error would air on theNine Network.[7]
In 2005, she was nominated for theLogie Award for Most Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series for her work onJessica, losing toMiranda Otto.[8][9]
She has also been nominated for twoAFI Awards and anIF Award.[9]
