Lauren Anne Talde Young[fn 1] (born November 8, 1993) is a Filipino and American actress, singer, and model. She is the younger sister of actress andMiss World 2013Megan Young. She is currently an exclusive artist ofGMA Network.
On June 17, 2006, Young made her acting debut in acameo role in the two-partKomiks episodeBampy—a Star Magic 14th Anniversary special onABS-CBN. She was one of the 20 new talents introduced as "Star Magic Batch 13". The same year, Young acted oppositePiolo Pascual inStar Magic Presents: All About A Girl and inAbt Ur Luv.[2][3]
Young appeared in the commercially successful filmOne More Chance in 2007.[4] In 2008, Young was inYour Song Presents: Impossible in 2008. In 2009, she acted in another episode ofYour Song Presents:Underage, oppositeAJ Perez.
In 2010, Young starred as Lorraine in the movieSa 'Yo Lamang oppositeEnchong Dee and appeared as the younger sister ofRodjun Cruz inJuanita Banana.
Young's breakout role was Via Pereira, played originally byClaudine Barretto, inABS-CBN's2011 remake ofMula Sa Puso.[5]
Young transferred toGMA Network in 2012.
Her first project in GMA Network wasMundo Mo'y Akin withAlden Richards andLouise delos Reyes, where she played the anti-hero role of Darlene Carbonel.
Young is the main protagonist of the teen drama suspense-thriller television seriesDormitoryo withEnzo Pineda,Joyce Ching,Ruru Madrid, andWynwyn Marquez. She played the role of Hazel Mendoza, who was determined to discover the truth behind the death of Maika Benitez (played by Wynwyn Marquez).
She also had her first mainstream film underGMA Films entitledOvertime, co-starringRichard Gutierrez.
In 2015, Young played one of the main antagonists (Antonia Santibañez) inMarimar, whose lead role was played by her real-life sisterMegan Young.Marimar marks their second project together afterStar Magic Presents: Abt Ur Luv Ur Lyf 2.
She is the youngest daughter of Calvin and Victoria Young.[6][7] She is a cousin ofMax Collins.[8] She finished high school atAngelicum College[7] and studied culinary arts atDe La Salle–College of Saint Benilde.[9][10]
