Laura Jeanne Veltz[1] is an American songwriter and musician. She previously was the vocalist and multi-instrumentalist of family pop-rock groupCecilia.[2] She was nominated for the first everGrammy Award for Songwriter of the Year at the65th Annual Grammy Awards for her work on releases byMaren Morris,Demi Lovato andIngrid Andress.[3]
Laura Veltz started her music career as a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist of her family pop-rock groupCecilia in 1996 to 2006. After the group split up, in 2008, she moved toNashville, Tennessee to pursue her career as a songwriter, lured byKye Fleming andMark D. Sanders.[4] She started her songwriting career in Nashville by writing with country music groupEdens Edge on theirdebut self-titled album.[5]
In 2020, Veltz was nominated for her firstGrammy Award in the category ofBest Country Song for writingDan + Shay's "Speechless".[6]
