InGreek mythology, the nameLaodamia (Ancient Greek: ΛαοδάμειαLaodámeia) referred to:

• Laodamia (orHippodamia),^[1] aLycian princess as the daughter ofBellerophon andPhilonoe, daughter of KingIobates. Her mother was also knownAlkimedousa,^[2]Anticleia,^[3]Pasandra orCassandra.^[4] Laodamia's brothers wereHippolochus andIsander, and byZeus, she became the mother ofSarpedon. She was shot byArtemis (that is, died a sudden, instant death) one day when she was weaving.^[5][6]Diodorus Siculus called herDeidamia, the wife ofEvander, who was a son of Sarpedon the elder and by her father of Sarpedon the younger.^[7]Xanthus was also called the father of Sarpedon according to one account.^[8]
• Laodamia, daughter ofAcastus andAstydamia and the wife ofProtesilaus. When her husband fell in theTrojan War, Laodamia committed suicide rather than be without him.^[9]
• Laodamia orLeaneira,^[10] anArcadian queen as the wife of KingArcas by whom she became the mother ofElatus,Apheidas andTriphylus. Laodamia was the daughter of KingAmyclas of Sparta andDiomede, daughter ofLapithes.^[11] Through this parentage, she was considered the sister ofArgalus,^[12]Cynortes,^[13]Hyacinthus,^[14]Polyboea,^[15]Hegesandra^[16] and, in other versions, ofDaphne.^[17]
• Laodamia, daughter ofAlcmaeon, wife ofPeleus and mother by him ofPolydora.^[18] But seeAntigone.
• Laodamia, wife ofAnticlus.^[19] Her husband was one of the men who were hiding in theTrojan Horse.^[20]
• Laodamia, alternate name forIphthime, daughter ofIcarius ofSparta andAsterodia, daughter ofEurypylus. She was the sister ofPenelope,Amasichus,Phalereus,Thoon,Pheremmelias,Perilaos.^[21] Laodamia was also calledLaodice,^[22]Mede andHypsipyle.^[21]
• Laodamia orArsinoe, nurse ofOrestes. She saved his life by sending him toStrophius after the murder ofAgamemnon, whereasAegisthus killed her own son, taking him for Orestes.^[23]
• Laodamia, alternate name forHippodamia (wife of Pirithous) occurring in a red-figure vase painting.^[24]
