
TheLangkloof Mountains are a shortmountain range within theCape Fold Belt in theWestern Cape ofSouth Africa. They form a link between theOuteniqua andTsitsikamma mountains to the north ofPlettenberg Bay in theGarden Route region. The name "Langkloof" means "long ravine" and was derived from Dutch.[1]
The upper Langkloof mountains are located between theOuteniqua andKammanassie Mountains, while the lower Langkloof mountains fall between theKouga andTsitsikamma mountains.[2] They stretch from Prince Alfred's Pass in the west to just north ofNature's Valley and south ofJoubertina.
