Langar is avillage in theWakhan District ofBadakhshan Province, in north-easternAfghanistan.[1] It lies on the riverPanj, opposite the larger village ofToqakhona inTajikistan.
The place should not be confused with a seasonal settlement called Langar, also in Wakhan, on the upperWakhan River, some 130 km east.[2]
The village lies towards the northern edge of theHindu Kush mountain range which crosses over intoKhyber Pakhtunkhwa inPakistan and is at an elevation of 9,543 feet (2,909 m).
Langar is situated 1.1 miles (1.8 km) away fromRomanit, 3.2 miles (5.1 km) away fromDarshai, 0.8 miles (1.3 km) away fromSar Shkhawr and 1.2 miles (1.9 km) away fromShkhawr.[3]
