Lance naik (L/Nk)[1] is the equivalent rank tolance corporal in theIndian andPakistani armies and, before 1947, in theBritish Indian Army, ranking belownaik and abovesepoy.[2] In cavalry units the equivalent isacting lance daffadar. Like British lance corporals, each wears a single rankchevron.[3]A Lance Naik is responsible for providing assistance in the leadership of small teams or units.[4]
