Lamplughsaura is agenus ofsauropodomorphdinosaur from theSinemurian-age (Early Jurassic)Dharmaram Formation ofIndia, dating from between 196 and 190million years ago. Thetype and only species isLamplughsaura dharmaramensis. It is known from several partial skeletons of a largequadrupedal animal up to 10 meters (33 ft) long, and was either abasalsauropod or, less likely, a more basalsauropodomorph.[1]
It was named afterPamela Lamplugh Robinson, founder of the Geological Studies Unit atIndian Statistical Institute, Kolkata.[1]
