Lakei Heimuli (born June 24, 1965) is a Tongan-born former professionalfootballrunning back in theNational Football League (NFL). He played one season with theChicago Bears, who selected him in the ninth round of the1987 NFL draft.[1]
Heimuli playedcollege football as a running back atBrigham Young University (BYU) andlettered from 1984 to 1986. He rushed for 966 yards in 1986 as a senior and is second in all-time rushing yards with 2,710 yards. Heimuli is third all time in totaltouchdowns with 32 (30 rushing and 2 receiving. He attendedKahuku High School inHawaii.[2]
Two of his five children have also played college football. Helam Heimuli played atWeber State University and Houston Heimuli is currently afullback atBrigham Young University[3][4] after completing his bachelor's degree atStanford University.
