Allyssa Lyn Lane (born May 20, 1988) is an Americanprofessional wrestler. She is signed toAll Elite Wrestling (AEW) andRing of Honor (ROH), where she performs under thering nameLacey Lane and is a member ofCRU. She is best known for her time inWWE, where she performed under thering nameKayden Carter from 2018 to 2025 and (alongsideKatana Chance) became a one-time and the longest-reigningNXT Women's Tag Team Champion and one-timeWWE Women's Tag Team Champion. The two also became the first women's tag team to have won the WWE and NXT Women's Tag Team Championships.

Early life

Allyssa Lyn Lane[2] was born inWinter Park, Florida, on May 20, 1988, the daughter of a Filipina mother and Jamaican father.[3] She played basketball atMonroe Community College before transferring toShaw University,[4] where she won anNCAA Division II championship in 2012 and graduatedmagna cum laude later that year with aBA in recreational management.

Professional wrestling career

Early career (2016–2018)

Lane enrolled in theTeam 3D Academy in 2016, and wrestled regularly for a number of different Florida-based independent promotions. Her first public match was a winning effort against Trish Adora for theGo Wrestle promotion inDaytona Beach in August 2016. Lane had a tryout at theWWE Performance Center in February 2017, after which she was offered a developmental contract. However, a physical examination revealedarthritis in her knee, and the contract was rescinded. Lane spent four months rehabbing her knee, and in November 2017 she joinedThe Crash Lucha Libre inTijuana, Baja California,Mexico, eventually winning theirWomen's Championship fromKeyra on January 20, 2018. She held the title for 175 days before losing it toTessa Blanchard in atriple threat match that also includedSantana Garrett on July 14, 2018.[5][6][7]

WWE (2018–2025)

After passing a second physical, Lane signed withWWE in July 2018.[8] Lane took part in that year'sMae Young Classic, defeatingVanessa Kraven in the first round andTaynara Conti in the second round,[9][10] before being defeated byMeiko Satomura in the quarterfinals.[11] In September 2019, Lane's ring name was changed toKayden Carter.[12] On the January 29, 2020, episode ofNXT, Carter had her first victory on television, defeatingChelsea Green.[13] She was defeated in their rematch on the February 19 episode ofNXT.[14]

On the September 16 episode ofNXT, Carter teamed withKacy Catanzaro in a winning effort against Jessi Kamea andXia Li.[15] They took part in the2021 Women's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament, defeatingMercedes Martinez andToni Storm in the quarterfinals,[16] but were beaten byDakota Kai andRaquel González in the semifinals.[17] They would then feud withXia Li after constantly being attacked by her throughout the following weeks. On the March 10 episode ofNXT, Carter lost to Li by disqualification after Catanzaro hit the latter with a crutch.[18] The next year, Catanzaro and Carter participated in the 2022 Women's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic where they defeatedDiamond Mine's Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley in the first round,[19] but lost toKay Lee Ray andIo Shirai in the semifinals.[20] After defeatingYulisa Leon andValentina Feroz on the April 26 episode ofNXT,[21] Chance (whose name had officially been changed by WWE from Kacy Catanzaro to "Katana Chance" one week earlier) and Carter pursued the NXT Women's Tag Team Championship where they failed to win the titles atNXT In Your House fromToxic Attraction.[22] After losing, Chance and Carter began a slow heel turn where they failed to become number one contenders for the NXT Women's Tag Team Championship which they lost on the June 28 episode ofNXT toCora Jade andRoxanne Perez.

Carter and Chance won the vacant NXT Women's Tag Team Championship in a fatal four-way elimination match, lastly eliminating Toxic Attraction, on the August 2 episode of NXT, marking Chance's first professional title and Carter's first title in WWE.[23] They defended their titles againstDoudrop andNikki A.S.H. atWorlds Collide,[24] and againstNikkita Lyons andZoey Stark on the October 25[25] and November 8 episodes ofNXT.[26] On January 8, 2023, Catanzaro and Carter became the longest reigning NXT Women's Tag Team Champions. On the January 24 episode ofNXT, they retained againstAlba Fyre and Sol Ruca.[27] AtNXT Vengeance Day, Carter and Chance lost the NXT Women's Tag Team Championship toFallon Henley andKiana James, ending their historic reign at 186 days.[28]

As part of the2023 WWE Draft, Carter, along with tag team partner Chance, was drafted to theRawbrand.[29][30] Carter and Chance made their main roster debut on the June 5 episode ofRaw in a losing effort against theWWE Women's Tag Team ChampionsRonda Rousey andShayna Baszler.[31] On the December 11 episode ofRaw, it was announced that Carter and Chance became the new number one contenders for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship and would challenge Chelsea Green andPiper Niven for the titles.[32] On the December 18 episode ofRaw, Carter and Chance defeated Green and Niven to become the new WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, becoming the first female tag team to have won the WWE and NXT Women's Tag Team Championships.[33] Carter and Chance had their first successful title defense on the January 8, 2024, episode ofRaw where they defeated Green and Niven in a rematch.[34] On the January 26 episode ofSmackDown, they lost the titles toDamage CTRL'sThe Kabuki Warriors (Asuka andKairi Sane), ending their reign at 39 days.[35]

Carter and Chance were transferred to theSmackDown brand as part of thepost-2024 WWE Draft transfer window in February 2025, but were released from WWE on May 2.[36]

All Elite Wrestling / Ring of Honor (2025–present)

In October 2025, Lane began to work forAll Elite Wrestling (AEW) and its sister promotionRing of Honor (ROH), wrestling againstMina Shirakawa for theInterim ROH Women's World Television Championship[37] andMercedes Moné for theAEW TBS Championship, but failed to win the titles.[38] On November 26, it was reported Lane signed with AEW.[39]

On the January 8, 2026 episode ofROH on HonorClub, Lane joinedCRU (Action Andretti andLio Rush).[40]
