Labico is acomune (municipality) of about 6,200 inhabitants in theMetropolitan City of Rome in theItalian region ofLatium, located about 35 kilometres (22 mi) southeast ofRome.
Known asLugnano until 1872, it takes its current name from the ancientLabicum, although it is more likely that the modern town was the location ofBolae, the city that foughtRome around the 5th century BC.
