La Neuveville District is one of three French-speaking districts of theBernese Jura in thecanton of Bern with the seat beingLa Neuveville, the other two beingCourtelary andMoutier. It had a population of about 6,083 in 2004.
From 1 January 2010, the district lost its administrative power while being replaced by theBernese Jura administrative district, whose administrative centre isCourtelary.[1]
Since 2010, it remains therefore a fully recognised district under the law and the Constitution (Art.3 al.2) of the Canton of Berne.
