L. Raja is an Indian director and actor who works in predominantlyTamil language films and television series.

Raja began his career as an assistant to directorRajasekhar.^[1] He debuted as a director withShankar Guru in 1987, which was produced byAVM Productions.^[2]He worked as a director in nine films, six of which starredArjun.^[1][2] After a sabbatical of around 18 years, a director approached Raja and asked him to act in the feature filmMuniyandi Vilangial Moonramandu in 2008, which marked his acting debut.^[1] He has since acted in 35 films includingNaadodigal, where he playedSasikumar's father.^[1]

He debuted in television withRaghuvamsam which received positive reviews. He has since acted in several television series and directed two series:Idhi Kadha Kaadhu andNinne Pelladutha for Radaan Mediaworks.^[1] He also directedHimsaveda, a silent dance drama for AVM Productions.^[2]

Raja is married to actressEaswari Rao.^[3] The couple has 2 children.^[3]
