L-Fuculokinase belongs to the family oftransferases, specifically those transferring phosphorus-containing groups (phosphotransferases) with an alcohol group as acceptor. Thesystematic name of this enzyme class isATP:L-fuculose 1-phosphotransferase. Other names in common use includeL-fuculokinase (phosphorylating), andL-fuculose kinase. This enzyme participates infructose andmannose metabolism.
