Kyran Aiden Lofthouse (born 15 September 2000) is an English professionalfootballer who plays as aright-back orright midfielder forEFL League One clubBurton Albion.
Born inOxford,[2] Lofthouse started his career withOxford United, making his senior debut in a 2–1EFL Trophy victory overNorwich City U21 on 3 September 2019.[3]
He joinedOxford City on a one-month loan in November 2019,[4] before his loan was extended by a further two months in December 2019.[5] He returned to the club on another one-month loan in February 2020 after the previous deal expired.[6] He appeared in 15 league matches for City in total, scoring three goals.[2]
In May 2020, he was offered a new one-year contract by Oxford United.[7]
On 26 October 2020, Lofthouse joinedNational League sideWoking on a month-long loan,[8][9] A day later, he went onto make his debut during a 1–0 away defeat toBoreham Wood, starting the fixture before being replaced byMax Kretzschmar in the 68th minute.[10] His loan was subsequently extended by a further month in December[11] and then again, in January 2021, until the end of the 2020–21 season.[12] Proceeding this, just six days later, Lofthouse went onto score the winning penalty for the Cards during theirFA Trophy fourth round penalty shootout triumph overBromley.[13] On 16 March 2021, Lofthouse registered his first goal for the club in a 1–1 home draw againstAltrincham, putting the Cards ahead in the 18th minute before a late equaliser from Josh Hancock in the 92nd minute.[14]
On 6 July 2021, Lofthouse returned to Woking on a permanent basis for an undisclosed fee, agreeing to a two-year deal.[15] He made his first appearance of the2021–22 campaign, during the Cards' 2–1 victory atWealdstone, featuring for the full 90 minutes.[16] Similarly to his first Woking goal, Lofthouse once again netted against Altrincham this time in February 2022 with a long range effort (which was eventually awarded as the club's goal of the season)[17] to give The Cards a 2–0 lead, with the game ultimately finishing in a 2–2 draw.[18] Within the same month and subsequently manager's,Alan Dowson final game in charge with theSurrey-based side, Lofthouse was forced off with a season-ending injury during their 2–0 defeat toNotts County.[19] On 11 May 2022, Lofthouse was announced as TheWoking News and Mail Young Player of the Year for the2021–22 campaign.[17]
On 28 July 2023, following his departure from Woking, Lofthouse agreed to joinLeague One clubBarnsley on a three-year deal.[20] He made his debut during anEFL Cup tie in early August in a 2–2 draw withTranmere Rovers.[21]
On 22 September 2023, Lofthouse joinedGateshead on loan until January 2024.[22] On 9 January 2024, he joinedLeague Two clubMilton Keynes Dons on loan until the end of the season, linking up again with head coachMike Williamson whom had brought him to Gateshead.[23]
On 3 February 2025, Lofthouse joined fellow League One sideBurton Albion on loan for the remainder of the season.[24]
On 25 July 2025, Lofthouse returned tothe Brewers on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee, signing an initial two-year deal.[25]
