Kyle Donovan Weaver (born February 18, 1986) is an American former professionalbasketball player. He playedcollege basketball forWashington State University, and was drafted 38th overall by theCharlotte Bobcats in the2008 NBA draft. Weaver, a 6-foot-6-inch (1.98 m)shooting guard-small forward, was born inBeloit, Wisconsin. His father,LaMont Weaver, played collegiate basketball at theUniversity of Wisconsin.[1][2]
Weaver attendedBeloit Memorial High School, inBeloit,Wisconsin, where he played high school basketball.[3]
Weaver had a career-high 25 points and 12 rebounds in a 75–68Washington State loss toStanford on March 14, 2008, at theStaples Center, inLos Angeles,California.[4]
On August 11, 2008, Weaver was traded by the Charlotte Bobcats to theOklahoma City Thunder, for a second-round draft pick from the2009 NBA draft, which originally belonged to theNew Jersey Nets.[5] The Thunder assigned Weaver to theNBA Development League affiliateTulsa 66ers, in April 2009,[6] November 2009,[7] March 2010,[8] and April 2010.[9]
Weaver spent the 2010 training camp with theChicago Bulls,[10] but he was waived on October 21. After spending several months in the NBA D-League, he was signed by theUtah Jazz, on March 30, 2011.[11]
In April 2011, he signed withSpirou Charleroi in Belgium.[12]
In July 2011, he joined the German teamAlba Berlin.[13]
In October 2012, he signed with theMemphis Grizzlies.[14] On October 23, 2012, Weaver was waived by the Grizzlies. Weaver then signed with theAustin Toros.[15] On February 25, 2013, Weaver was traded to theCanton Charge.[16]
On August 19, 2013, he signed a one-year deal withAzzurro Napoli.[17]
On October 28, 2014, he signed withBnei Herzliya of Israel, for the 2014–15 season.[18] On January 9, 2015, he was released by the Israeli team.[19] On March 7, he signed withCaciques de Humacao, of the Puerto RicanBaloncesto Superior Nacional.[20] He left the club after appearing in only two games.
On August 28, 2015, Weaver signed with theRoseto Sharks, for the2015–16 Serie A2 Basket season.[21]
On October 4, 2016, Weaver signed with the Polish clubPierniki Toruń, for the2016–17 PLK season.[22][23]
On August 3, 2017, Weaver signed with the Greek clubAris Thessaloniki for the 2017–18 season.[24]
On August 8, 2018, Weaver inked withNeptūnas Klaipėda of theLithuanian Basketball League (LKL).[25]
On August 27, 2019, he has signed withPolski Cukier Toruń of thePLK.[26]
