Kyle Marshall Pontifex (born 5 February 1980 inWellington) is a New Zealand professionalfield hockey player. He plays as a goalkeeper. He earned his first cap for theNew Zealand national team,nicknamedThe Black Sticks, in 2001 againstMalaysia.[1]
Pontifex represented his country in three consecutive Summer Olympics: in2004 (Athens),2008 (Beijing) and2012 (London).[1][2][3] He was a batonbearer for the2022 Commonwealth Games Queen's Baton Relay when the baton came toBasin Reserve in March 2022.[4]
