Kyle Douglas Morrell (October 9, 1963 – November 15, 2020) was an American professionalfootball player who was adefensive back in theNational Football League (NFL).

Morrell was born inScottsdale, Arizona and played scholastically atViewmont High School inBountiful, Utah.[1] He playedcollegiately for theBYU Cougars,[2] where, as a senior, he was a member of their1984 consensus national champion team. He was also honored his senior year by theAssociated Press, as a first-teamAll-American.[3]

Morrell was selected by theMinnesota Vikings in the fourth round of the1985 NFL draft,[4] but spent the year on theinjured reserve list.[5] He appeared in five games for the Vikings in 1986.[6]

Morrell died on November 15, 2020, in Bountiful, fromAmyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).[7][8]
