TheKwari River, also known as theKuwari orKunwari River, flows through theSheopur,Morena andBhind districts ofMadhya Pradesh in centralIndia. The total length of the river is approx 220 km.
The river originates near the village of Devpura. The Kwari is a tributary of theSindh River, draining into the Sindh at theEtawah District.[1] The Sindh River joins theYamuna River further downstream atPachnada. The towns ofBijeypur andKailaras are located along its bank. The river has no tributaries.[2]
The Kwari Bridge was constructed in 1962.
The total catchment of the river is 23 999 km2.
The river was mentioned in the epicMahabharata.[2]
Some upstream farmers have been accused of diverting water flows leading towater scarcity downstream.[1]
