Kurzebiela[kuʐɛˈbjɛla] is a settlement, part of the village ofŁąkie,[1] in the administrative district ofGmina Strzelno, withinMogilno County,Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-centralPoland.[2]
During theGerman occupation of Poland (World War II), theGestapo carried out massacres of around 200Poles in the Kurzebiela forest in 1940.[3] In 1944, the Germans burned the bodies of the victims in attempt tocover up the crime (seeNazi crimes against the Polish nation).[3]
