Kurt Stern (1907 inBerlin – 1989) was ascreenwriter who worked for theDEFA film studio inEast Germany. He worked in partnership with his wife Jeanne (née Machin). In 1953, together with directorMartin Hellberg, the Sterns were awardedthe Gold Medal of theWorld Peace Council for the filmDas verurteilte Dorf ("The condemned village").[1]
