Kunnathur is the onlylegislative assembly constituency reserved for theScheduled Castes inKollam district ofKerala,India. It is one of the 11 assembly constituencies in the district.[1] As of the2021 Assembly elections, the current MLA isKovoor Kunjumon of RSP(L).

Structure

As per the recent changes on Assembly constituency delimitations, Kunnathur Assembly constituency consists ofEast Kallada,Munroe Island,Kunnathur,Mynagappally,Poruvazhy,Sasthamcotta,Sooranad North,Sooranad South,West Kallada andPavithreswaram panchayats inKollam district.[2][3]

Electoral history

Kunnathur Assembly constituency was a two-member constituency until 1965. It officially became an constituency reserved for the Scheduled Castes in the 1967 Kerala State Assembly election.[4]
