Krujë District (Albanian:Rrethi i Krujës) was one of the 36districts of Albania, which were dissolved in July 2000 and replaced by 12counties. It had a population of 64,357 in 2001, and an area of 372 km2 (144 sq mi).[1] It is in the centre of the country, and its capital was the town ofKrujë. The area of the former district iscoextensive with the presentmunicipality ofKrujë, which is part ofDurrës County.
