Krishnanagar (also known as Jhandenagar) is a municipality inKapilvastu district ofLumbini Zone in the western terai part ofNepal. The municipality was established on 18 May 2014 by merging the existing Krishnanagar,Sirsihawa,Shivanagarvillage development committees (VDCs).[1][2] on Nepal's southern border withIndia across fromBarhani Bazar. Movement of Indian and Nepalese nationals across the border is unrestricted, however there is acustoms checkpoint for goods. Goods bound forDang andArcghakhanchi cross here.Krishnanagar is connected byF-12 Chandrauta-Krishnanagar to the east-westMahendra Highway andPostal Highway.
