ISKCON Vrindavan, also calledSri Krishna Balaram Mandir, is one of the majorISKCON temples in the world. It is aGaudiya Vaishnava temple located in the city ofVrindavan,Mathura district, in the Indian state ofUttar Pradesh.[1] The temple is dedicated to the Hindu godsKrishna andBalarama. The other deities of temple areRadha Krishna andGaurangaNityananda.[2]

History

A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, founder–acharya of theInternational Society for Krishna Consciousness, inaugurated the Krishna Balaram Mandir and installed deities (murtis) ofKrishnaBalaram,RadhaShyamasundar, thegopisLalita Devi and Vishakha Devi, andGauraNitai onRam Navami (April 20) 1975.[3]

The presiding deities of the temple areKrishna andBalarama at the central altar. On the right altar areRadha Krishna as Sri Sri Radha Shyamsundar with the gopisLalita and Vishakha. On the left altar areChaitanya Mahaprabhu withNityananda, and ISKCON founderA. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and his guruBhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati.[4]

Near the temple, at the entrance to the complex, is thesamadhi mandir of Prabhupada, built of whitemarble.
