Tuvan administrative division

Kozhuun (/kɒˈʒn/;Tuvan:Кожуун,pronounced[qɔˈʑuːn]) is the Tuvan term of an historical feudaladministrative division known as abanner.

The termkozhuun is used today as a unit in the system of theadministrative divisions of the Tuva Republic ofRussia.[1] A typicalfederal subject of Russia is subdivided intoraions.Kozhuun is an ethnic name for a raion, used only in Tuva.

Tuva historically had ninekozhuun. Eachkozhuun was divided intosums which was then subdivided intoarbans.
