Kowloon City District Sports Association (Chinese:九龍城區體育會) is aHong Kong professionalfootball club which currently competes in theHong Kong Premier League.
Kowloon City began fielding a football team in theHong Kong football league system in 2002 as part of aHong Kong Football Association initiative to involve district representative teams.[1] Kowloon City were part of a group of 11 districts who participated in the inaugural season of this project.
Starting from the 2021–22 season, Kowloon City has been branded asEnGenius Kowloon City due to sponsorship reasons. In this season, Kowloon City ranked first in theHong Kong Second Division before the cancellation of the season due toCOVID-19 pandemic in Hong Kong.[2]
In the 2022–23 season, theHKFA accepted Kowloon City's application to be promoted to theHong Kong First Division.[3][4]
On 25 June 2024, Kowloon City have been confirmed their promotion to the2024–25 Hong Kong Premier League after being crowned champions of the2023–24 Hong Kong First Division League.[5] This is the club's first-ever season in the top flight.
