Kostolište (Hungarian:Egyházhely) is a village inMalacky District in theBratislava Region of westernSlovakia close to the town ofMalacky, north-west of Slovakia's capitalBratislava.
Themunicipality lies at analtitude of 157 metres (515 ft)[3] and covers anarea of 16.82 km2 (6.49 sq mi) (2024).[4]
The name comes fromGermanKirchplatz,Kirchenplatz (1423Kirchle, 1488Kyryhporcz, 1561Kripoletz, etc.).).[5] Older Slovak nameKrýpolec,Kiripolec (the official name 1920–1948) is a phonetic adaptation. In 1948, the village was renamed toKostolište by translation of the German name.
