Kosta Runjaić (Serbo-Croatian pronunciation:[kôstaruɲǎːitɕ]; born 4 June 1971) is a German[1] professionalfootball manager and formerplayer who is the head coach ofSerie A clubUdinese.
Runjaić played during his club career for Türk Gücü Rüsselsheim, SV 07 Raunheim andFSV Frankfurt inGermany.
From 2006 to 2008, Runjaić served as the coach of reserve side teams1. FC Kaiserslautern II as a caretaker andWehen Wiesbaden II and he was the caretaker coach ofVfR Aalen in 2008.
Runjaić became the head coach ofSV Darmstadt in 2010 where he stayed 2 years. He signed withMSV Duisburg in 2012. In 2013, Runjaić returned to1.FC Kaiserslautern as the head coach until 2015. In 2016, Runjaić became the head coach of1860 Munich.
Runjaić moved toPoland to coachEkstraklasa sidePogoń Szczecin from 2017 to 2022. In mid-2022, Runjaić was appointed the new manager ofLegia Warsaw.[2] He won the2022–23 Polish Cup and2023 Polish Super Cup with Legia, and led the team to the knockout round play-offs of the2023–24 UEFA Europa Conference League, before being sacked on 9 April 2024.[3]
On 14 June 2024, Runjaić was announced as the new head coach of ItalianSerie A clubUdinese.[4]
